Pub business

Public House Insurance and Pub Insurance

Running a public house is an extremely busy process. One of the many
aspects that you must consider when running a public house is to have
adequate business insurance. Most insurers will offer a packaged public
house business insurance policy.

Businessinsure are able to provide business insurance quotations for
most types of licensed trade premises, whether this is a wine bar, public house with bar snacks,
public house with a full restaurant, public house with a function suite or a wine bar.

A public house insurance policy or pub insurance policy is designed to provide many of the covers that a public house will need.

Please click on the following link for full details of the insurance cover that is available in a public house insurance package policy or pub insurance package policy.

Most pub insurance policies will provide cover for a number of different areas. For example:-

  • Contents insurance

This would cover items such as tables, chairs, glasses, kitchen equipment, fridges, cookers, tills and any other pub contents which are moveable. It would also cover any fixtures and fittings that you have installed in the pub for which you are responsible, such as a fixed bar.

  • Buildings insurance

If you lease the pub you may not be responsible for the buildings insurance, this would normally be arranging by the brewery or the owner of the building. You may have a full insuring and repairing lease which will mean you are responsible for insuring the building, even though you do not own it. In this case you would arrange the insurance and the owners of the building would have their financial interest noted on the policy as the beneficial owners. Therefore, in the event of a claim (for buildings) they would be the beneficiaries of any claim payment.

  • Tenants improvements insurance (for example, if you lease the building you may need to insure improvement such as laminate flooring that you "own" and are responsible for)
  • Stock insurance
  • Alcohol stock insurance
  • Tobacco stock insurance
  • Business interruption insurance
  • Public liability insurance
  • Products liability insurance
  • Employers liability insurance
  • Frozen food insurance or deterioration of stock insurance
  • Loss of licence insurance
  • Personal effects insurance
  • Insurance for portable business equipment, such as laptops, PDA's etc
  • Goods in transit insurance (whilst in your own vehicle)
